Repairs

The last 30 miles to Waco were uneventful.  Just met the usual people who were fascinated each time I stopped for water etc.

John Pursley from Bicycles Outback met me and we stripped the machine down to examine what damage needed repairing.

Two new front tyres were required and the back wheel needed not only straightening but the damage extended to a broken spoke.

On further investigation the right front wheel had three broken spokes also.  John has found that the new inner tubes made by Slime, which are supposed to self seal when punctured, are  difficult to fit with the narrow tyres and has spent the time since I have been away for lunch trying to prevent it from jumping off the rim each time it is filled to the correct pressure.

I have decided to stay here for at least one night in order for him to have more time to get the job done properly and they have taken it into their workshop.

John getting frustrated with the front wheel!
