4-5 Days Out of Touch

This is Karen again. When I spoke to Gerry today he told me that he would be travelling to El Paso next. Most of this journey would be through the high desert on secondary roads as he is not allowed to cycle on the interstate main road. The weather during the day will be warm but not too hot and dry not humid heat. The nights will be cold but he is equipped for that. He will be keeping a watchful eye for rattlesnakes and other nasties too! He said he would have approximately 250 miles to go without any towns or truck stops so had stocked up as best he could for this journey which will take him 4-5 days. He felt that he may not be able to make contact during this time by telephone and almost certainly not be able to post on the blog. If I hear from him I will again post for him otherwise there may not be anything posted from now until he arrives in El Paso. I received a text message this evening from him saying that he is having a lovely cycle under a beautiful starry sky - there must be no light pollution in the desert where he is so the stars must be really bright.
