Appraisal

Dave and myself took the Cyclocar down into Austin where the fitness freaks head. Elliott brought his cycle some 15 in his pickup truck and met us there. It is a jogging/cycle/walking track around Austin. We met and I interviewed many people from young to old and the resounding opinion was they would buy one if the price was right. I let several people try it whenever Dave would stop riding up and down in it! Elliott had to wait until the end before being allowed to have a go! His opinion like Francisco a nationally rated cycle champion who had tried it in the morning was that it was a blast!

When asked whatn they thought it cost or they would be prepared to pay for one said around $5000 and if that were the case this would exceed my expected Europe retail price by 100%

One couple with two young children (the father was carrying one of his children on the shoulder) asked if a trailer for children to be towed behind were possible and I told them that there is one particularly good one on the market that would fit ideally for $150 were so thrilled that they virtually wanted to go on the waiting list and gave me their contact details to be included in the information prior to production. They went on to say that in that case they would buy two and take the children further afield on their days out! When I mentioned the lightweight camping equipment their faces lit up.

Lynn doesn't like bicycles and is afraid of them but she literally jumped into the machine in order to have a go and then when she got out had a big grin on her face.

Austin City has just started a new program of encouraging alternative transports systems throughout the city.

We now have to consider whether we approach the TV and I wait until Monday or so before leaving.

Dave really is keen on getting involved in the project and along with Elliott has come up with some very good ideas for a marketing strategy.
